TheIPBuzz.com is an online marketplace for ideas, inventions, intellectual property, patents, copyrights and trademarks. You could list them to sell/license or you could search for an idea, invention, patent, copyright or trademark and buy it through our site. Our office is located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

 

Is TheIPBuzz.com really free?
Yes, our services are absolutely free. You could upload your intellectual property, patent, copyright, trademark or any other invention for free. We don’t ask for credit card information or any other financial information at any step. You could also search, make counter offer, buy or license any listed patent, copyright, trademark or invention for free.

 

What do I need to do to list my idea, invention, patent, copyright or trademark?

Once you register, you can create your listing by clicking on the “Sell or License your invention” on our home page. You will then be prompted to choose between Regular Patent, Provisional Patent, Copyright, Trademark or other invention. Once you do that, you will need to fill in some general details related to your invention; whether you want to sell it or license it; terms and conditions for sale/license; price etc. Pictures, videos etc. are optional.

 

What if I am open to both Selling and Licensing?

If you want to create a listing for both selling and licensing, you should then create two listings, one for selling and second one for licensing.

 

I have a Provisional Patent, can I still list? What if I want to get an NDA signed before other user could review my files?

Yes, you can list your Provisional Patent also. However, you should not upload or share any confidential information. If you want to keep some files hidden from other users, you may also do so. Remember to choose ‘Yes’ for question ‘NDA required?’ when you are creating your listing. Once you do that, any thing you upload in the “additional files’ section, will remain locked. If any other user is interested in viewing those files, they can choose from three options a) electronically accept and sign your NDA b) request waiver to your NDA c) or send you their NDA. All these actions/requests will show up in your The IP Buzz account. Your files will open for viewing only after your approval of the request you receive.

 

Are the deals I am making or agreements I am electronically accepting on The IP Buzz legally binding?

Yes, all the agreements you are electronically accepting or deals you are making are legally binding. Please note that one of the Terms of Use of our website is that you accept to be legally bound by any of deals you are making or agreements electronically accepting on our website. If you do not wish to be legally bound, please do not use our site or our services.

 

Do you provide help to complete the deal?

Our website and processes are automated so that you are able to complete your deal without having to meet potential buyer or seller. We don’t provide legal counseling or any other kind of personal counseling to close the deals.

 

I have created a listing for my patent, copyright or trademark. What do I do next?

Once you have created your listing for patent, copyright or trademark, we encourage you to market your listing via several sharing tools provided on the listing page. The more you use social networking sites like facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc. to market your listing, the more your chances to find a potential buyer. We also encourage you to link your listing page to your blogs, websites etc.

 

Can I edit my listing?

No, you cannot edit your listing once it is submitted. You will have to delete it and submit a new one.

 

How is the sale of my listing for my patent, copyright or trademark completed?

Once you have listed your patent, copyright or trademark on our site, any interested user can either click ‘Buy it Now’ or click ‘Make a Counter Offer’. In either case, you will get notification in your The IP Buzz account. The sale will be final ONLY upon your acceptance.

 

How is the licensing of my listing for my patent, copyright or trademark completed?

Once you have listed your patent, copyright or trademark on our site, any interested user can either click ‘Get a License’ or click ‘Make a Counter Offer’. In either case, you will get notification in your The IP Buzz account. The sale will be final upon your acceptance.

 

I have sold or licensed my patent, copyright or trademark. What should I do next?

Once you have sold or licensed your patent, copyright or trademark, you need to complete financial transaction. Unfortunately, at this time our site doesn’t support financial transactions. However, we have provided enough communication tools so that you could contact your buyer and arrange for payment. Please note that all the communications and transactions you make with other users is your sole responsibility.

 

I have received the payment for my patent, copyright or trademark. What should I do next?

Congratulations! If you have sold your patent, copyright or trademark, you will have to complete assignment for that intellectual property by visiting United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. Once you complete the assignment, you can upload the assignment confirmation in your The IP Buzz account and send it to the buyer. If you have licensed your patent, copyright or trademark you just wait for more users to license your listing.

 

What is a featured listing and how do I get listed?
